Magic Jack – Is It Really Worth It?

Solution We all have seen the ads for this device. While we have not tested nor own one, we are not to ‘impressed’ by it.

These are the things we know of it:

1 - In order to use it, you MUST leave your computer on at all times. Turn it off, you will NOT get any phone calls.

2 - The software that comes with it is REAL buggy and causes a lot problems for other programs.

3 - Cheap construction of the unit in whole (case, connector, etc.).

4 - You get what you pay for – Always true!

If you do desire to switch to VOIP, we suggest you look into Vonage. Much better service and many more options for your money.
